The Original Stations

The Stations
In the beginning, there was WBRS. But at it’s peak the Michigan State Network boasted six stations, including WKME, WFEE, WMCD, WEAK and WMSN. A Radio Board was established to monitor station activities and a fee was collected from all students each term to fund the operation. Scan the radio dial at left to visit each of the MSN affiliates.
The Leader
No history of campus radio at Michigan State would be complete without recognizing the contributions of MSN general manager Marc Conlin. Although he never worked a regular shift, and didn’t major in any part of the communications field, Marc did more to sustain MSN than any one person in it’s history. From his office in the Physics/Astronomy building, Marc kept a hand on the tiller to keep the egos in line and ensure that the budgets were met. Over 20 years later, he’s still associated with the university.
