Airchecks

tape_deck.gifWhether we were perfecting our skills, or just having fun, MSU Campus Radio provided the tools and the mentors to inspire us. In the beginning the tools were a little crude, a couple of turntables, a microphone, a mixing board, and tape cartridge machines that didn’t always fire when the buttons were pushed. It’s a far cry from today’s state of the art equipment at Impact 89 and The Fix. But whether you ride a beach bike or a ten speed racer, you still learn. Here are a few clips that represent the sounds students heard during the Campus Radio years. We hope that this archive will grow as attics and basements reveal more reel to reel tapes and cassettes. Contact Us if you have some memories to share.
